More than 2.9 billion rubles will be allocated for medicines, medical devices and medical nutrition for citizens eligible for subsidized supplies. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. This was reported in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
This social service is provided to disabled people, including participants of the Great Patriotic War, disabled children, and Chernobyl veterans. As the press-service noted, the need for specific medicines and medical devices for each person is determined by their attending physician.
Of the total amount, more than 1 billion rubles was allocated in addition to the original budget, and the amount of almost 2 billion rubles has already been provided for in the federal budget for 2022 and will be distributed among the regions.
“Federal support will make it possible to provide almost 3.5 million people with drugs free of charge during the year. It is crucial that people are provided with their prescribed medications in a timely manner. I ask you to closely monitor the issue in every Russian region,” Mishustin said during a government meeting on July 7.
The Cabinet of Ministers had indexed the amount for which beneficiaries can receive medicines and medical products. The decision required additional funding.
“In total, in 2022, the federal budget provides more than 40.7 billion rubles for medicines supply to beneficiaries free of charge,” the government summed up.
