Since the beginning of online sales of over-the-counter medicines, Russians have bought more than 200 million packages on marketplaces. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (TsRPT, the labeling operator).
“So far, more than 200 million sales have been recorded in the drug labeling system, made through 581 Internet platforms operating under this scheme which do not have own licenses for the sale of medicines,” the TsRPT reported.
The law that allows the remote sale of over-the-counter medicines was adopted in the spring of 2020.
Patients will have the opportunity to buy prescription drugs remotely in Moscow, the Moscow and Belgorod regions. The corresponding law was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Russia launched its drug labeling program on July 1, 2020. Now, according to Roszdravnadzor, 100% of drugs that are introduced into civil circulation have been labeled.
