In 2022, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation helped the Circle of Kindness Charity Foundation to reduce the cost of purchased medicines by 40%. This was reported in the press service of the service.

“The service assisted the Foundation in conducting negotiations with suppliers of 22 medicines for children with serious diseases. The reduction in prices following the results of the negotiation process was on average 40% from the prices initially proposed to the Foundation by pharmaceutical companies  and up to 49% from prices for previous procurement conducted in Russia,” the report says.

The Circle of Kindness Foundation was established by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 16 dated 05.01.2021 to support children with serious life-threatening and chronic diseases including rare (orphan) diseases. The work of the Foundation allows, in particular, to procure expensive drugs for such children, including those that have not yet been registered in the Russian Federation, the Service recalled.

The FAS previously proposed to change the mechanism of re-registration of prices for drugs that are in short supply.
