The cost incurred by the Russian economy due to the COVID-19 pandemic is approximately $306 per person. This is much less than the losses of a number of European countries, said the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.

According to her, the loss of the German economy is $4807 per capita, in Australia – $5760 per capita. “The numbers are incomparable. This just says that everything we did was absolutely right, ” she believes.

In early June, Rospotrebnadzor reported that in 2022, the cost of combating coronavirus infection amounted to about 1.6 trillion rubles. At the same time, direct medical expenses in the Russian Federation can be estimated in the range from 0.76 to 1.35 trillion rubles.
