XII Congress of Oncologists of Russia was held in Samara on May 18-20. Sotex took an active part in it.

One of the key tasks of the modern healthcare system is the fight against oncological diseases. The successful resolution of this matter was greatly attributed to the execution of the project at the federal level bearing the same appellation. The project integrated various measures, including preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic, to effectively reduce both mortality and morbidity associated with this pathology. The XII Congress of Oncologists of Russia has become a vivid example of the productive interaction of oncologists, the key goal of which is the maximum consolidation of the efforts of the medical community in the fight against oncopathology, Sotex added.

Over 3,700 doctors hailing from diverse regions of Russia and neighboring countries actively participated in the XII Congress of Oncologists of Russia, which was commemorated to celebrate the 95th birth anniversary of N. Trapeznikov.

The interest of the listeners was aroused by the panel discussion “A and B in Supportive Therapy”, organized by Sotex. Anticipating the discussion, Tatyana Semiglazova explained why the event received this name. Oncologists’ agenda today is to provide patients with effective antitumor therapy while maintaining the quality of life. However, practitioners are often limited by physical status, which is worsened by anemia and pain. According to her, proficiently managing such circumstances considerably enhances the abilities of the oncologist, analogous to how the initial letters – A and B – pave the way to the entire alphabet.

The experts discussed significant issues concerning supportive therapy during the meeting, which plays a vital role in facilitating effective antitumor treatment while guaranteeing an improved quality of life for patients with cancer.
