According to Rosselkhoznadzor, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision, since 2021, Russia has witnessed a remarkable surge in the registration of domestic veterinary medicinal products. In 2022, a remarkable total of 124 innovative Russian drugs were officially registered within the country. In contrast, only 23 foreign drugs were granted the same privilege within that timeframe.

“In just a year and a half, 28 new vaccines of Russian production have passed state registration. Despite the foreign economic sanctions, the veterinary industry in Russia continues to thrive, largely thanks to the sustained growth of the drug market. In order to support domestic manufacturers, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and Rosselkhoznadzor have undertaken considerable endeavors to improve legislation and licensing practices within the veterinary medicine sector”, the report says.
