The Danish Novo Nordisk, the most valuable pharmaceutical company in Europe, closed its representative office in the Republic of Belarus in December 2023.
The pharmaceutical company has confirmed its inclusion in the growing list of over 80 foreign businesses that have discontinued operations in Belarus in 2023. It is worth mentioning that the majority of legal entities that closed their representative offices in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, were from Russia – a total of 14.
As stated in the source, only eight of the companies were engaged in business with Russian capital, while the remaining ones were Russian “subsidiaries” of companies through which business entities from Germany, Denmark, the USA, and Japan operated.
At their “purest,” Germany leads with 10 companies having closed representative offices. Following is Lithuania, with six enterprises. And just last year, companies from more than 25 countries left Belarus.
