Sechenov University has reached an agreement with the Skolkovo Foundation, the International Center for Quantum Technologies, and Cloud Quantum Technologies to collaborate in establishing an ecosystem for scientific, technological, and business communities focused on quantum technologies in medicine. This partnership was formalized at the Future Technologies Forum, held on February 13-14 at the World Trade Center in Moscow.
One of the main areas of cooperation is the creation of new drugs. In addition, the following tasks have been set: accelerating the collection and analysis of the genome, improving quantum machine learning in medicine, and increasing the accuracy of disease diagnosis. The parties will also focus on organizing scientific and practical conferences and preparing joint publications and educational programs.
“For Sechenov University, cooperation in this direction means not only the opportunity to apply advanced computing technologies in its research and development in the field of biomedicine, but also interdisciplinary interaction with leading scientists in the field of quantum technologies, which allows us to talk about the development of domestic medicine and pharmaceuticals at a fundamentally different level.” , – the press service quotes the rector of Sechenov University, Pyotr Glybochko. According to him, quantum computing will enable us to comprehensively comprehend and predict diseases, facilitating highly precise treatment and the creation of medicines.
