Pharmaceutical enterprises of the Ural Federal District (Sverdlovsk, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan regions, Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Districts) doubled the export of medicines in 2023 compared to 2022. Over the previous year, the companies supplied 200 thousand tons of products worth $6 million to foreign markets.
“This is twice as much in weight and three times as much in cost as a year earlier,” the report clarifies. The largest share of pharmaceutical products – 166 tons worth $5 million – went to Uzbekistan. In addition, in 2023, Ural enterprises shipped drugs to Mongolia for the first time (about 1.5 tons for $31 thousand). The remaining part was delivered to Azerbaijan and Georgia.
