According to various estimates, today there are from 25 to 30 thousand students from India, including doctors, studying in Russia. For the most part, education is based on a commercial model, but the country also operates a quota system for free education. The current volume is 200 quotas, but in the future the number of scholarships may increase. Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Tatyana Semenova spoke about this.
More than 13,000 Indian students are currently pursuing medical studies in educational institutions under the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. “This is a significant increase compared to 2016 – by 205%,” she said, adding that in Russia there are many students not only from the CIS countries, but also from abroad, including “even the most exotic countries.”
