Health Ministry recommended to update ibuprofen side effect information

The Russian Ministry of Health has recommended that manufacturers of drugs containing the active ingredient ibuprofen update the medication’s instructions to include information about new side effects. It is about the risk of developing certain diseases that occur when taking such medications. This is stated in a letter that appeared in the State Register of Medicines.
It is recommended to include additional information regarding the risks of severe skin reactions such as erythema multiforme, exfoliative dermatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, DRESS syndrome, and acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis.
