To address the ongoing shortage issue, the Kamchatka Territory has recently received a significant shipment of 665 different types of medications. These drugs encompass a wide range of essential and life-saving treatments.
It is mentioned that the governor of the region, Vladimir Solodov, pledged to diligently oversee the situation and address the issue of shortages until “all patients have access to the essential medications.” In April 2024, local media reported a shortage of antiviral, stomach, heart medications, as well as other medicines in the Ust-Bolsheretsk region of the region.
This is partly due to the shift in drug supply patterns in the region in 2024. In areas without Kamchatpharmacy branches, subsidized medications are now distributed by hospitals, first-aid posts, and general practitioners’ departments. To address this issue, authorities have established a dedicated hotline for drug supply concerns.
