The Russian Ministry of Health has drafted an order aimed at prolonging the validity of certificates that permit medical students to serve in specific roles within hospitals and as members of ambulance teams. If adopted, the changes will be made to order No. 715n of November 1, 2022.
The procedure approved by order No. 715n allows students receiving higher medical or pharmaceutical education, after passing a special exam, to work as doctors, including epidemiologists and parasitologists, nurses, disinfects, registrars, dental hygienists and ambulance paramedics. It expires on March 1, 2025, but, according to the authors of the bill, the term must be extended in order to combat the personnel shortage in the industry.
