During the “Managing Innovation in Healthcare: Tools for Drug Provision” conference on September 27, 2024, Irina Filatova, a member of the State Duma Committee on Competition Protection, highlighted the crucial role of innovative development in the pharmaceutical industry and underscored vital elements of international collaboration.
“From the point of view of economic development, innovation is our priority, but this process is not simple and not always fast. We continue to cooperate with both domestic and foreign manufacturers to provide citizens with high-quality drugs. We place special emphasis on supporting domestic developments with breakthrough potential,” she said.
Filatova also reported on a meeting with a major government customer interested in African markets. “We are actively looking for ways to interact and are already resolving issues on mutual settlements. In principle, this is not a problem for most countries. In the coming month, we are planning a large trip to a number of African countries to discuss cooperation in the field of pharmaceutical provision,” she concluded.
