Drug sales have exceeded 1 trillion rubles since the beginning of the year

In January – April 2025, 1.03 trillion rubles worth of medicines were sold in Russia, a 17% growth y-o-y. In natural units, the market increased by only 2%, with 1.92 billion packages sold.

The drug market in the first four months of 2025 amounted to more than 1 trillion rubles, according to a report by the analytical company AlphaRM. Pharmacy sales reached 613 billion rubles, while public procurement accounted for 414 billion rubles.

The share of retail sales was 59.7%, compared to 62.4% a year ago. Accordingly, the share of the public segment increased from 37.6% to 40.3%.

In packages, retail has a share of 86.6%, compared to 89.2% a year ago. The share of public procurement in natural units increased from 10.8% to 13.4%. Pharmacies sold 1.66 billion packages, while the public segment supplied 260 million packages.

The share of Russian medicines in January – April 2025 reached 46.4% in rubles and 69.2% in packages.

Since the beginning of the year, the largest increase in value has been observed in the obesity treatment drug segment, which rose by 59%. Drugs for diabetes, specifically GLP-1 receptor agonists, increased by 55%, while acne medications saw a 45% rise, placing them third in the rankings.
