The Rapid Bio company, which specializes in the production of food safety rapid tests, has announced the launch of a system for detecting antibiotics in dairy products. It will be presented at the BIOPROM-2025 exhibition and forum on October 6-7 in Gelendzhik.
“Only residual amounts of antibiotics are found in milk,” explained Aleksandra Telegina, project manager at Rapid Bio. “In our country, four basic groups are controlled: chloramphenicol, penicillin, streptomycin, and tetracycline. The new test system is sensitive to all of them. This is a fundamental difference from foreign analogues. The development has confirmed high accuracy and sensitivity. Furthermore, detecting all groups of antibiotics at once significantly simplifies and reduces the cost of the procedure. Major dairy plants, quality control laboratories, and farm enterprises have already expressed interest in the test.”
Among other technological novelties that visitors and specialists will see at BIOPROM is a fourth-generation HIV test. It not only detects antibodies but also identifies the antigen itself, which speeds up diagnosis.
One of the forum’s thematic tracks will be dedicated to support for innovations and the problems faced by Russian developers and investors: “Where to Get Money for the Bioeconomy: from Science to IPO.” The main partner of the session is Skolkovo.
According to Kamila Zarubina, Managing Director of the Department for Development of Priority Projects at Skolkovo, industrial biotechnology is among the fund’s priorities. A large-scale grant program has helped the development of many companies in this field. At BIOPROM, the products and developments of some of these companies will be displayed at the Skolkovo stands.
