Scientists from Southern Federal University (SFedU) in Rostov-on-Don will create an internet portal to gather information on specialists in the field of microfluidics technologies, as reported by TASS, citing the university’s press service.
“SFedU has initiated the creation of an all-Russian community of microfluidics technology specialists. By the end of Q1 2026, the collection and placement of information about participants and educational resources on a specialized internet portal is planned to be fully completed,” the press service reported. They noted that the creation of such a platform aligns with the goals of the new national project New Materials and Chemistry.
Microfluidics (from Greek ‘micro’ – small and Latin ‘fluidus’ – fluid) is an interdisciplinary science that studies the behavior of fluids in micro-scale structures (from tens to hundreds of micrometers). Microfluidics enables the creation of miniature “lab-on-a-chip” systems for ultra-fast chemical analysis, development of new drugs, high-precision medical diagnostics, and solving problems in the food and chemical industries.
The portal “Микрофлюидика.рф” (Microfluidics.ru) was launched this year as an open platform for uniting specialists, researchers, and companies working in the field of microfluidics technologies.
