The Scientific Centre for Expert Evaluation of Medicinal Products of the Russian Ministry of Health has released three new types of pharmacopoeial reference standards for the State Pharmacopoeia.
According to the Centre’s announcement, the registry has been updated to include aminocaproic acid, risperidone, and ethylene glycol. As of November 18, the State Pharmacopoeia’s RS registry thus includes 444 types: 284 of chemical origin, 83 of biological origin, 7 of herbal origin, 37 for impurities, 9 for excipients, 6 for system suitability tests, and 18 for identification.
The registry was last updated on November 1, when zuclopenthixol decanoate, carbidopa, and succinic acid were added.
Pharmacopoeial reference standards are essential for ensuring the accuracy, reproducibility, and comparability of results in the quality control of medicinal products. In addition to pharmacopoeial standards, the domestic bank of reference standards includes other types of RS. Their nature and purpose were explained by Andrey Berman, General Director of the National Center for Reference Standards, in an interview with GxP News.
