Pharmasyntez Group will launch the production of anticancer drugs in Cambodia, the company’s press service said.

The project involves the construction of a modern pharmaceutical complex and a phased transfer of drug production technology from Pharmasyntez’s Russian site, starting with secondary packaging, with further scaling of the localization level, the statement said.

The initiative is being implemented with the use of foreign investment and involves an offset agreement with the Cambodian Ministry of Health for long-term drug supplies. The company did not disclose the amount of these investments or the total cost of the project.

As Nikita Punia, Vice President of Commerce for the group, said in October at the Made in Russia forum, exports are a key part of the company’s long-term development strategy. Pharmasyntez’s drugs are supplied to 15 countries, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Syria, and Uzbekistan.

In addition, Pharmasyntez recently agreed on cooperation with the Chinese biopharmaceutical developer Hualan Bio. Find details in the GxP News article.
