The pharmaceutical industry remains one of the fastest-growing sectors in Russia, stated Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“Among the fastest-growing areas remain the pharmaceutical and medical industries. The output of medicines increased by almost 15.5%, and medical devices — by 10%,” he said while presenting the government’s 2025 work report to the State Duma.

Mishustin also reported that last year, five world-class genomic centers were opened in the country. They are developing test systems for selecting personalized therapy for cardiovascular pathologies, oncology, drugs for Parkinson’s disease, and for the prevention and diagnosis of infectious diseases, among others.

The Prime Minister mentioned the completion of the construction of a megascience facility, reports TASS. “A major event in the scientific field was the completion of the construction of a megascience facility — the Siberian Circular Photon Source. In Russia — since the collapse of the USSR — nothing like this has been created,” he emphasized, noting that this year the first experiments will be conducted at the facility, the results of which will help, among other things, accelerate the development of medicines.
