Leading US AI company Anthropic has developed an AI‑powered platform called Claude Science for researchers, GxP News reports. The company also plans to develop drugs itself, focusing on diseases that suffer from a lack of research funding.

Over the past several months, researchers have collaborated with Anthropic to test Claude Science in beta, using it for tasks such as single‑cell RNA sequencing analysis, CRISPR screening design, protein structure prediction, chemoinformatics and more.

Separately, Phase III clinical trials have begun for the first drug entirely designed with the help of AI – INS018_055 (also known as rentosertib), intended for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Drugs fully developed using AI could reach the market by the end of the decade, industry representatives said.
