The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has developed a draft resolution allowing the procurement of certain types of medicines that are not in circulation in Russia, or which are in short supply. The document is published on the official website of statutory regulations.
“To establish the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation as the authorized federal executive authority for the procurement of certain types of medicines for medical use that are not in circulation in the Russian Federation, including those not registered in the territory of the Russian Federation, or which is in short supply (or there is a risk of such shortage),” the draft resolution reads.
According to the document, the Ministry of Health has the right to redistribute the medicines specified in the resolution.
As it is noted in the explanatory note, the drug provision tool that the project will establish for the population of the Russian Federation will allow to respond urgently to the risks of a shortage in the pharmaceutical market of the country. This will make it possible to ensure the availability of drugs in an expeditious manner.
The Ministry stressed that the project is of national importance, as its implementation will improve the provision of patients with the necessary medicines.
As it became known earlier, the Ministry of Health began searching for alternatives to medicines that are not produced in Russia.
