The EAEU countries have established production plan of strategically important drugs and pharmaceutical substances on the territory of the union. One of the activities of this plan is the development of joint vaccine production, Director of the Industrial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission Nikolai Kushnarev told BelTA.

“As you know, Russia has already established the production of its own vaccines. It is expected that this quarter the production of anti-COVID-19 vaccine will start in Belarus. The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), and the Kazakh side, is currently working on the creation of a new joint venture for the production of vaccines in Karaganda”, he replied.

Kushnarev said that the industrial block of the EEC and the RDIF are actively discussing the issue of involving the pharmaceutical manufacturer of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan in the development of joint industries.

“It is too early to talk about the timing and cooperation forms – a number of meetings have yet to be held to clarify the details. All participating parties understand the importance of quickly solving this problem, so you can be sure that soon all issues will be agreed, “said the director of the EEC industrial policy department.
