The Eurasian Economic Commission presented for consideration the basic organizational model of the labelling system of goods with identification tools in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The draft document is published on the docs.eaeunion.org portal.
The presented model defines unified approaches in the labeling system of goods in the EAEU countries, created as part of the Agreemeny implementation of labeling of goods by identification means in the EAEU on February 2, 2018 (entered into force on March 29, 2019).
The draft document states that the identification means for goods marking and (or) consumer and (or) group packages contains a marking code and other information is presented in the form of a two-dimensional bar code in Data Matrix format or otherwise, if the corresponding decision is made by the governing board.
During the forming a marking code, the probability of guessing it due to selecting marking codes should be no more than 1 in 10,000. Identification tools are generated by operators of member states or participants in the turnover of goods. National components must comply with the requirements established by the agreement provisions, this basic model, acts of the Union bodies in the field of goods labelling with identification tools, as well as the requirements of the legislation of the EAEU member states.
