Rospatent included in the top ten Russian inventions of 2020 the tuberculosis vaccine of the Gamalei National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, TASS reports citing a message from the department.

“The vaccine has a double effect, on the one hand, protects against TB infection, on the other hand, allows a person already ill to cure tuberculosis. The developed unique composition of the vaccine includes two components: an antigen that immediately forms the body’s immune response to both bacteria that are in the active phase and bacteria in a dormant state, and a substance that selectively stimulates the links of the immune response. Previously known vaccines did not allow simultaneously to have the effect of preventing infection and treating”, the report said.

Also, best inventions authors are considered the NAMI Institute, Moscow State University, the Foundation for Advanced Studies, PJSC Sibur Holding, OJSC AiBi Group.

The best inventions included several methods of producing modern materials, a kit for detecting antigens of infectious diseases, a method of recognizing specific structures in biological tissue, and others.
