The Moscow Mayor’s Office reports on the testing of Sputnik V in teenagers

More than 20 teenagers in Moscow have already received the first shot of the Sputnik V vaccine as part of the trials. All of them are feeling well, two of them have a fever, Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, said.

“On Monday, a clinical trial of the Sputnik V vaccine for adolescents aged 12-17 years started in Moscow. Before vaccination, the participants must undergo a thorough medical examination, which includes PCR testing. Yesterday, the first vaccinations began: 21 people have already received the first shot of the vaccine, including 11 at the Bashlyaeva Children’s Hospital and 10 at the Morozovskaya Children’s Hospital Their condition is monitored by doctors, only two participants in the study have a slightly increased temperature; in general, everyone feels fine,” TASS quotes Rakova as saying.

On July 5, the Moscow Mayor’s Office reported that a clinical trial of the Sputnik V vaccine for adolescents aged 12-17 years started in two children’s hospitals of the Russian capital. Rakova said that after the introduction of the first and second components of the vaccine, the teenagers will be hospitalized in isolated care units for three days, where they will be examined once again before vaccination, and after vaccination, their general condition will be monitored. After that, they will have to visit the hospital several more times for tests. The test participants will keep a diary of self-observation in a special mobile application, and doctors will monitor their general condition over the phone.
