Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, ordered to allocate 100.6 million rubles in 2021 for phase 3 of clinical trials of the Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus infection for adolescents aged 12 to 17. The corresponding order of the Chairman of the Russian government was published on Tuesday, September 28, on the official Internet portal of legal information.
“To allocate budget funds in the amount of 100,605,200 rubles for the fulfillment of the state order of the provision of services, namely, a clinical trial of Gam-COVID-Vac” with the participation of 3,000 volunteers aged 12-17 years [phase 3 of the study],” the text of the document states.
The grant will be received by the The Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology.
In this connection, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation is instructed to monitor the targeted and effective spending of the allocated funds and report on the results by March 1, 2022. The instructions are aimed at implementing measures to combat the spread of coronavirus in the country.
