Amgen has become an official partner of the International Student Festival GxP-Fest, the main purpose of which is to increase the prestige of pharmaceutical careers. Representatives of Amgen told students and graduate students about career opportunities in the field of biotechnology at a business meeting, and also participated in the expert council, selecting the best projects presented by young talents.

At the festival, students and postgraduates met leading experts of the pharmaceutical industry, exchanged business contacts, and received answers to employment-related questions.

At the educational platform run by experts as part of the business meetup, Elizabeth Meyers, Director of International and Distribution Quality at Amgen, told senior students about the company’s history and values, the key programs of the company’s foundation for young talents, as well as about the most important soft skills and professional skills for building a successful international career.

“Pharmaceutics and biotechnology are promising professional areas, they are increasingly more in demand around the world. The International Student Festival GxP-Fest is a great opportunity for young professionals to determine the direction of their professional development in the industry,” said Ugur Gunaydyn, General Manager at Amgen Russia & CIS. “The main goal of such programs is to give students the opportunity to engage in research and gain practical knowledge. We believe that such efforts will form a generation of young researchers who will create local developments in the field of biotechnology and genetic engineering in Russia.”

Obtaining real laboratory skills and hands-on experience is one of the most important parts of the educational process for students, necessary for their successful work in the field of medicine and biotechnology. That is why Amgen continuously contributes to improving the quality of practical training. Amgen has invested $350 million to develop education in the fields of biology, medicine, and biotechnology worldwide.

The International Student Festival GxP-Fest 2021 was held on July 2 and 3 in a hybrid format.
