Rospotrebnadzor experts are now discussing QR codes assignment to people who have antibodies to coronavirus infection, but no official confirmation of the fact that they have had the disease. This was reported in the press service of the department with reference to Anna Popova, the Chief State Sanitary Physician.
“The level of antibodies sufficient for protection is discussed by researchers around the world. At the same time, nowhere in the world do they issue documents on the immune status on the basis of a test of the level of antibodies. In any country, it is only vaccination or a history of the disease with a confirmed diagnosis that may serve as an indicator of the immune status,” the press service explained.
At a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection, Popova said that the issue of issuing QR codes to people who have antibodies to coronavirus is being discussed at the government level.
“The question about people who have antibodies is really important, it is being discussed at the government level. The problem is to be solved, there is nothing to argue about here, so we need to find the best and the most acceptable solution to it,” the head of Rospotrebnadzor is quoted by TASS as saying.
According to Anna Popova, the decision on this issue should be “very balanced”. “Until the problem is examined from all possible angles, the decision won’t be announced,” the head of the department emphasized.
