The Government of the Russian Federation has decided to simplify the procedure for state registration of medical devices, which is intended to prevent their shortage. The corresponding resolution was signed by Mikhail Mishustin, the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation. This was reported in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“Imported or locally manufactured medical devices can only be brought to the Russian market after their state registration. A simplified procedure will make it possible to receive all the necessary documents as soon as possible. For some medical products, the registration period will be reduced from 50 to 22 working days, while for some other products it will be as short as 5 working days,” the statement says.
A special interdepartmental commission will determine the list of medical devices eligible for registration under the simplified procedure, which will be created in the near future. The commission will include representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Federal Customs Service, and the Federal Tax Service.
The Government of the Russian Federation previously issued an order to monitor the situation with VED and medical devices.
