The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has approved and sent to the regions its guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of monkeypox. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
“The Ministry of Health has approved and sent to the regions its guidelines on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of monkeypox. They are intended for medical workers and health care managers, as well as other specialists working in laboratory and instrumental diagnostics and organization of medical care for patients with monkeypox,” the ministry quotes TASS.
As noted, since May of this year, medical workers have been trained in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of monkeypox in all Russian regions.
“Amid the threat of monkeypox importation into the country, the Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko had training of medical workers on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of the disease organized in all Russia’s regions since May 2022, and special tactical trainings for medical workers on response in case of identification of a patient with suspected monkeypox have been conducted,” the statement reads.
As it became known earlier, the first case of monkeypox has been confirmed in Russia.
