Sales of vitamins and dietary supplements in the Russian Federation have increased 2.5 times over the past 12 months. Only in June 2022, the demand for these products increased by 25%. This is reported by “Gazeta.Ru” with reference to the data of Sber Eapteka.
As noted, the greatest demand for goods of these categories is recorded in the first months of autumn: in September, the growth was 65%, and in October, 52%.
In the first six months of this year, sales increased by 16% compared to the second six months of 2021. Vitamin C became the most popular product: every second order included products containing this vitamin. Another vitamin often bought is vitamin D: every fourth Russian resident has purchased it over the last 6 months. Magnesium preparations and multivitamins were in third place.
“According to the research, residents of Moscow most often bought vitamin D in the form of drops, which accounted for 10% in the category. Vitamin D is also often bought in St. Petersburg (9%), Rostov-on-Don (8%), and Voronezh (7%). At the same time, vitamin D sales are much lower in Ufa, where residents more often choose drugs containing ascorbic acid (14%). Vitamin C is popular in Nizhny Novgorod (12%), Saratov (12%), Samara (11%), and Kazan (11%),” the publication writes.
As it became known earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers was asked to strengthen responsibility for online sale of dietary supplements.
In the first four months of 2022, the demand for vitamin complexes increased 2.2 times y-o-y.
