More than 550,000 doses of Russian-made measles vaccine were released into civil circulation in the last decade of April, according to the press service of the Ministry of Health. It reports that the production is going ahead of schedule.

“Additional supplies of the vaccine to the regions are planned, including for vaccination according to epidemiological indications,” the press service added.

As the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said earlier, measles outbreaks have been registered in more than 40 regions of the Russian Federation. They can be localized quickly, and, therefore, there is no need to introduce system-wise restrictions.

Cases of the disease have also been recorded in Moscow, but the capital’s Department of Health says there is no need to worry as the epidemiological situation is not critical.
