Rusatom Implantat (a subsidiary of Rusatom MetallTech) will begin production of titanium implants for reconstructive traumatology and orthopedics and tools for their installation, replacement and removal. The production line is located at the Alabushevo site, in Technopolis Moscow SEZ, the press service of the capital’s complex of economic policy and Property and Land Relations reports.

It is planned to launch the production of the innovative products by the end of 2024. The company will produce at least 140,000 units of titanium implants and related instruments annually. These are, in particular, plates for osteosynthesis of small, medium and large bone fragments, as well as intramedullary pins (placed in the bone marrow) for the treatment of fractures of the humerus, femur and tibia.

The press service of the department stated that the localization level will reach 90%, despite the fact that “today’s domestic market of implants for reconstructive traumatology and orthopedics, neurosurgery, spinal and craniofacial surgery mainly offers foreign products.”

In 2022, AO Rusatom Healthcare announced the launch of serial production of magnetic resonance imaging scanners by 2026. The company plans to produce 65 pieces of equipment annually.
