Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said that men in Russia on average live 10 years less than women due to alcohol and smoking abuse, high morbidity, and less commitment to taking care of their health. In addition, the minister said that 50% of infertility in marriage is associated with male factors, which is reflected in the demographic situation in Russia as a whole.
Mikhail Murashko noted the hard work of doctors of various specialties on the problem of men’s health. “Already today, the state guarantee program includes screening measures for men’s and women’s health as part of medical examinations for certain age groups of the adult population. This is an important measure that will allow diseases to be detected earlier and treated while preserving reproductive function,” said Mikhail Murashko.
