Batyr Berdyklychev is now head of the WHO office in Russia

Batyr Berdyklychev has become the new head of the WHO office in the Russian Federation. He replaced Melita Vujnovic, who had served in this position since March 2017. After she left office in January 2024, Bakhtygul Karryeva served as the organization’s acting representative in Russia.

Before his appointment to the Russian Federation, Berdyklychev headed WHO offices in Belarus and Turkey and worked at the WHO Regional Office for Europe. The official has already arrived in Russia and has begun to fulfill his duties.
