In Russia, more than half (65%) of the drugs sold are domestically produced, representing 38% of the market value. Dmitriy Galkin, Director of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, provided this first quarter 2024 statistics. He noted that the market share of Russian drugs has been steadily increasing.
According to him, in 2023, the Russian products market’s value grew from 20% to 36.8% in terms of money. The growth continues, reaching 38% in the first quarter of 2024. Russian goods now make up over two-thirds of packages in pharmacies and average market purchases.
