As Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Kamkin says, the list of vital and essential drugs includes 815 international non-proprietary names of medicines, of which 81% have a production stage in Russia. And also 86% of 47 INNs related to expensive drugs have production stages.
During St. Petersburg International Economic Forum he also spoke about the expansion of the arsenal of antitumor drugs (135 drugs for 35 INNs were registered) and the increase in the frequency of their use in the country. According to him, in 2022, more than 387,000 cancer patients were provided with preferential medicines. The total cost of more than 2 million prescriptions for them amounted to about 25 billion rubles, which is 16% more than in the previous year.
In May 2023, the Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko have already stated that 80% of the drugs from the list of vital and essential drugs are produced in Russia.
